I made some pillows for the upcoming show and love them!!!
Seriously these pictures just don't show you how soft they are.
They are super soft and snuggly.
I wish I could keep them all!

I had so much fun making these..
Coming up with new ways to work the sweaters design into the pillow.
I think I may just start selling some in my Etsy shop.

Christmas Bunting!

First, before I start, I must apologize for the dark photos
we have had some really gray and dreary weather the last few days,
and it was hard to find any good light for photos.
(click on photos to enlarge if needed)

Anyway......
I am doing a craft show next week and wanted something to hang from my table...
I came up with this:

Want to make one too???
Lucky for you I took some pics along the way...

1) Gather an assortment of felted sweaters
Don't know how to felt a sweater????
To felt: take some wool sweaters (80%-100% wool works best),
Throw them in the washing machine using the hot water cycle.
If you have a front loading machine you may need to throw in a pair of shoes, or tennis balls to help with the agitation process.
Dry in the dryer.

2) Cut out some Winter shapes - I used a tree, stocking, star and mitten.

3) Cut your shapes out of the felted sweaters

4) Next cut up several strips of wool sweater scraps (3-5 inches long)

5) Find a piece of material (I used some red felt I had in my stash) for the binding

6) Fold the felt over and tuck the shapes inside, while sewing closed -
Don't worry about how neat it looks it will all be covered up anyway.

7) Start to tie on the strips of sweater felt

Admire you handy work!

Crazy busy!!!!

Its been crazy busy around here the last month!!!
I am participating in a Christmas Craft Sale and am trying to get as many things done as I can.
Last year was my first craft show and I learned so much -
Here's hoping this year will be even better.
I will have lots to show you once I take some pics of all my completed items.

In other craft news....
My little girl was featured on the front page of ETSY!!!
I have a very talented friend (The Madhelmeteer) who sells crocheted hats -
She will often use my girls to model her hats, as she only has boys.
Well, her little owl hat made the front page.

(Botton row - middle)

I also won a giveaway recently!!!
I know!!! Can you believe it!!
I won!!!
What did I win - a bunch of fabulous patterns from...
I received the hotpad, napkin ring, tea towel and apron cupcake patterns.
How cute!!!

I am so excited today!!!
Why???
My Digital Scrapbook came in the mail!!!
It looks amazing!
I am so pleased with the quality... I was really unsure as to how I would like it being a traditional scrapbooker - but it is the best!!!
I may just want to permanently switch to digital - JK..

I don't believe I showed you all the cover of my scrapbook yet
Here it is...

This is how it will look when the book is laid out - its one big picture of the Punta Cana beach in front of our resort.

I also really love the last page from the book
It kind of speaks for itself - LOL!!

We had fun getting more sad with each pic
Although I think in the last pic I am trying to supress a laugh as well!

New Hat...

So Winter is approaching and I realized that I really needed to start to organize the hats and mitts from last year - to take an inventory of what fits and what doesn't. Sadly last years hats do not fit my girls - so what do I do about it?? Make new ones of course!!! I found a really great tutorial on Craftster for this Ribbed Ear Flap Hat. Picked out some yarn I had in my stash and this is what I ended up with.....

(Sorry the photos aren't the greatest, the SLR was at home that day)

I love how it came out and now have to make one for my other daughter. FUN!!! There are pom poms on the end of each tie as well, in these pics they seem to be hiding in her coat.

Click on the link at the top - it will take you to the post with the pattern in it. Enjoy!

Costume finished...

So my oldest child is in Junior Kindergarten and today they get to dress up and have a Halloween parade. Last year he and his sister were clowns, but this year I wanted to try and think outside the box. I have seen hotdog and hamburger costumes and thought they were adorable -  but they are so expensive, so I thought that I would make one. What a job!!! It was a much bigger task than I anticipated, kind of flying by the seat of my pants - while attempting to figure out what will work best. Well, it is done and I love it - my little man looks so funny - he says its "hilarious!!!".

The only parts I did not make were the pants (which he already had) and the sweater which I bought at a second hand store. He must wear brown, afterall - he is the hamburger!!!
